Most of the
churches in Georgetown and area are participating in an event called Community
Unity, to be held on Saturday May 2nd. Last year was such a success that we are truly excited
about this year’s bigger and better event. In
the morning, volunteers will be doing the spring yard clean-up
again at over 40 local homes, helping people who are unable to do this type of
work on their own. You and your
family are invited to join us at the “Picnic in the Park” in Cedarvale
between noon and 3:30.
There will be games, crafts, balloons, face painting, a bouncing castle,
pick-up soccer games, musical groups and of course lots of pizza, Maple Lodge
hot dogs and Neilson Dairy items for drinks and desserts.
All of this will be completely free and for the benefit of the Georgetown
community. The “Seniors’ Tea”
was such a hit last year that it’s being offered to all ages this year and
Adam Timoon will be providing some of the entertainment.
Our
Community Unity team is excited about helping meet some of the needs in our
community as well as providing the opportunity to join with you and your family
for a fun celebration at Cedarvale Park.
